These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Octodoro's website, app, and related services. By accessing or using Octodoro, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to use the service where you live.
• You agree to provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account.
• We may suspend or restrict accounts that violate these Terms or pose security risk.

2. Service Scope and Changes

Octodoro provides productivity and study tools, including optional social and AI features. We may update, modify, or discontinue parts of the service at any time to improve quality, security, or compliance.

3. Premium Subscriptions and Billing

• Premium features are offered through paid subscriptions processed by Stripe.
• When you subscribe, you authorize applicable recurring charges to your payment method.
• Pricing, billing period, and renewal terms are shown during checkout.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through the Stripe billing portal in account settings.
• Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable once charged for a billing period.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful purposes.
• Attempt to bypass security, scrape data, or interfere with platform operation.
• Exploit bugs, automate abuse, or manipulate progression, rewards, or leaderboard integrity.
• Upload content that violates third-party rights or applicable law.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as task text and session reflections). You grant Octodoro a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the service.

6. AI Features

• AI features are optional and rely on third-party providers.
• Do not submit sensitive personal information in AI prompts.
• AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and should not be treated as professional advice.

7. Intellectual Property

Octodoro and its original software, design, branding, and content are protected by intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works.

8. Third-Party Services

Some features depend on third-party services, including Google authentication, Stripe billing, and OpenAI APIs. Your use of those services may be subject to their separate terms and policies.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

• The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent allowed by law.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure operation at all times.
• To the extent permitted by law, Octodoro is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Our aggregate liability for claims arising from these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid to Octodoro in the prior 12 months or (b) USD $50.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, legal requirements, or security concerns.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of Octodoro after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
